IIT JEE Advanced Eligibility:
- Nationality:
- All the Indian citizen and PIO / OCI Candidates are also eligible for JEE Advanced.
- All the foreign candidates are also eligible they can check the details on the official website.
- Age Limit:
- General Category and OBC: The upper age limit is 24 years (i.e. candidates born after 1st October 1993)
- SC/ST/PW: The relaxation of 5 years is given to the reserved category candidates upper age limit is 29 years (i.e. Candidates born after 1st October 1988 are eligible)
- Number Of Attempts:
- Only two attempts are allowed for a candidate to pass the IIT JEE Advanced. The attempt should be made only for 2 consecutive years.
- JEE Main 2018 Performance Eligibility:
- JEE Main performance serves an important role to make you eligible for IIT JEE Advanced. Only top 2, 20,200 students including of all the categories are eligible for IIT JEE Advanced 2018.The reservation of different categories is shown below percentage-wise:

5.Marks obtained in class 12th board / diploma degree / Equivalent Exam
- Candidates who have appeared for class 12th board or any other equivalent exam in 2017 or 2018 for the first time in all the subjects are eligible to apply for IIT JEE Advanced 2018.
- However, if the academic result of the board or equivalent exam is declared after June 2016 then those candidates are also eligible for IIT JEE Advanced 2018 provided they meet the other eligibility criteria.
- If the result was declared before June 2016 for the academic session 2015-16 for the 12th board or any other equivalent exam but the result of a particular candidate is withheld due to any reason then the candidate is considered not eligible for the exam
- Those candidates are not eligible for JEE Advanced exam who has already admitted to any of the IIT institutes last year whether or not they continued with the program.those candidates who have accepted the seat by reporting at the reporting centre are not eligible.
- candidates who are applying for the first time in any the preparatory course of the IIT institute are eligible for this year IIT JEE Advanced exam.
- Those Candidates who had already accepted and paid for the seat in 2017 but
- Unable to report to any reporting centre
- Withdrew their seat before the final round of seat allotment
- Cancelled their seat before final seat allotment irrespective of any reason for seat allotment in 2017
