JEE Advanced 2017 Exam Analysis:
JEE Advanced 2017 test was conducted by IIT Madras on 21st May. The test was conducted offline. Only 2, 20,000 students who cleared the JEE Main were eligible for this JEE Advanced Exam. The complete analysis of paper 1 and paper 2 subject wise is covered in this article:Quick analysis of Paper 1:
- Total of 54 question with 183 max marks
- Paper 1 was divided in three parts Physics, chemistry and mathematics
- Further each part has 3 sections as follows:
- 7 questions with 4 options one or more than one option is correct
- +4 for all correct answers marked
- +1 for partially correct answer marked
- 0 for no attempt
- -2 for all other cases
- 28 is the max marks for this section
- 5 Questions with single numerical digit from 0-9 as a correct response
- +3 for correct answer
- No negative marking in this section
- Max marks obtained were 15
- 6 questions of matching type. Questions were asked based on the table given the questions were objective.
- +3 for correct response
- 0 for no attempt
- -1 for all other cases
- 18 is the max marks for this section
Reaction of students after paper 1 was over:
The paper was not very tough as compared to previous year paper it was rated as moderate but not easy. The most bothering subject was chemistry for the students as compared to physics and mathematics.
Subject wise Analysis of paper 1:
Physics: physics was on easier side all the questions were of moderate level more weightage was given to class12 the syllabus.one question from NCERT example was framed in the paper.
Chemistry: Most of the students found chemistry on the tougher side. Three column matching was a surprise for the students. Here also NCERT was given preference with some tricky one beyond the syllabus.
Mathematics: No tricky questions were asked from mathematics. Question level was from easy to moderate. More weightage was given to class 12th syllabus.
Quick analysis of Paper 2:
- The exam patter was similar as paper 1.
- 54 question with Max 183 marks.
- Paper 2 also has the same sections viz. physics, chemistry and Mathematics. Each with 61 max marks as in paper 1
- Further each part has 3 sections as follows:
- 7 questions with 4 options with one correct response
- +3 for correct answers marked
- 0 for no attempt
- 12 for all other cases
- 21 is the max marks for this section
- 7 Questions with 4 options and more than one option is correct
- +4 for all correct answers marked
- +1 for partially correct answer marked
- 0 for no attempt
- -2 for all other cases
- Max marks obtained were 28
- 2 paragraphs with 2 questions from each para with 4 options and one correct answer.
- +3 for correct response
- No negative marking
- 12 is the max marks for this section
According to the aspirants Overall level of paper 2 was moderate although, students found paper 2 more difficult as compared to paper 1.Physics and chemistry were reported tougher than mathematics.
Subject wise Analysis of paper 2:
Physics: Questions asked in physics were quite difficult and tricky. Question asked from rotation mechanics was the toughest one.
Chemistry: This section was low scoring as compared to paper1.questions were framed the judge the knowledge of the student. The questions were tricky and bit difficult.
Mathematics: This section was a relief for the students as mathematics section was a scoring one. Level of questions was from easy to moderate.
