JEE Main Cut-off 2018 | Check Category - wise Cut Off here
CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) has conducted JEE Main Exam on 8th April 2018 across the country. After the written exam, CBSE will announce the qualifying marks or Cut-off of JEE Main 2018. All those who qualify are then eligible for appearing in JEE Advanced 2018.
However, while preparing for JEE Main exam the students start analysing and predicting the expected cut-off. This helps them to strategize their study plan in such a way that they get an idea regarding how much marks do they really need to qualify JEE Main Exam.
To help the students, the table below shows the JEE Main cut-off for last five years. This will give them an idea of how to determine the expected cut-off for JEE Main 2018

From the table above, it is quite evident that every year, the JEE Main cut-off has been declining (except in 2014). Also, the decline in the qualifying marks is huge as seen above that the cut-off 2013 for general students was 113, but it has significantly declined to 81 in the year 2017.
This is not because of a particular reason as there are many factors which are taken into account while generating a cut-off for a particular year. And, so while predicting the expected cut-off for JEE Main 2018, the students should keep these factors in mind. Some of these factors are listed below for the convenience of the students
- Number of applications received for JEE Main 2018
- Number of questions asked in the paper
- The difficulty level of the exam
- Performance of the students in the exam
- Previous years’ cut-off trends of JEE Main
On the basis of these factors, let’s analyse the cut-off for JEE Main 2017. The reason why it’s important to do this is for helping the students to get a clearer picture of what to expect this year.

At the time when the JEE Main 2017 cut-off was announced, it was reviewed that the reason for the low cut-off was the increasing number of qualifying students for appearing in JEE Advanced exam and the significant increase in the difficulty level of the question papers of JEE Main in comparison to previous years.
