NEET Exam 2019: Eligibility, Syllabus, and Pattern Explained
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a national level entrance test which is conducted for students who wish to pursue medical, dental and AYUSH courses from the institutes recognized by the Medical Council of India. From this year, NEET will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The application form of NEET is available online from November 1, 2018. NTA will conduct NEET 2019 in the same exam pattern as that of previous year’s. The examination authority will conduct NEET 2019 in offline mode only once a year.
NEET 2019 – What’s New?
- The application form of NEET 2019 is available from November 1 till November 30, 2018.
- From this year, the timing of NEET entrance test has been changed and it will be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm.
- The examination cities have been increased from 136 to 154.
- NTA has provided a concession in fees for transgender candidates. The application fee for candidates belonging to transgender category is INR 750.
- Aadhaar card is not mandatory for NEET 2019 registration. Also, for the convenience of candidates, NTA has provided the facility for NEET practice centres to students.
- The mode of NEET 2019 will be offline only.

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2019
Students aspiring for NEET 2019 are required to fulfill the eligibility criteria decided by the examination authority. It is advisable that you should go through the eligibility criteria of NEET 2019 before applying for the same. The eligibility criterion of NEET is given below.- Candidates who wish to apply for NEET 2019 must be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2019. However, the maximum age limit to apply for NEET is 25 years as on May 05, 2019.
- Students must have passed Class 12 or equivalent or must be appearing for the same in 2019.
- Candidates must have scored an aggregate of at least 50% (for UR), 45% (for PH) and 40% (for reserved including PH reserved) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology collectively in the HSC examination.
NEET Application Form 2019
The application form for NEET 2019 is available from November 1 to November 30, 2018. Candidates can fill the application form of NEET only in the online mode. The step by step procedure to fill the NEET application form is given below.- Candidates have to register themselves by providing their email id, contact details and other personal details. After successful registration, students will be able to login using their login id and password.
- Fill the application form with correct details.
- After entering all the information correctly in the application form, you need to upload the scanned images of your photograph and signature.
- The last step involves the payment of application fees. Application fee can be paid online using Credit/ Debit Card, Net Banking etc.
- After making the payment, don’t forget to download and take a print out of the confirmation page. Keep the confirmation page safe for future references.
