All You Need to Know about NEET Eligibility Criteria
As we all know that from this year the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency i.e. NTA. NEET Eligibility Criteria
Indian candidates, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs and foreign nationals are eligible to appear for NEET 2019. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria of NEET 2019 including age requirement, NEET qualification marks and number of attempts provided below.
NEET Eligibility Criteria - Age Criteria
According to the eligibility criteria of NEET, candidate applying for NEET must have completed 17 years of age either at the time of admission or on or before December 31, 2019, however, there is no maximum age limit to appear in NEET.
NEET Eligibility Criteria – Minimum Qualifying Percentage
The minimum qualifying marks that candidates need to score in their Class 12 or equivalent examination is provided in the table given below:

NEET Eligibility Criteria for NRI and Foreign Students
In order to fulfill the eligibility criteria of NEET, candidates need to have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as compulsory subjects. Candidates who have completed their education from Abroad must have passed any examination which is equivalent to CBSE Class 12 qualification.
NEET Eligibility Criteria 2019 – Maximum Number of Attempts
There is no limit on maximum number of attempts i.e. you can apply for NEET as many times as you want. According to the eligibility criteria of NEET, candidates can appear for this entrance examination as many times as they want to provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria of NEET. Candidates can appear for this examination twice in a year.
NEET Eligibility Criteria - 15% All India Quota seats/Deemed Universities/Central Universities/ESIC and AFMC Colleges
- Candidates qualifying NEET will be considered eligible to appear for 15% All India Quota seats.
- Candidates who are from the state of J&K are not eligible for 15% AIQ seats except for those students who fill a self declaration form.
- The 85% seats of DU and Institutional Quota seats of AMU are reserved for those students who have passed Class 10 and Class 12 from Delhi and AMU.
- The 85% State Quota seats consists of seats from the Govt. colleges of the States/ Union Territories. To be considered eligible for State Quota seats, candidates are required to fulfill the NEET eligibility criteria laid down by the admission authority.
