Coaching Institute for IIT-JEE (JEE Main and JEE Advanced)
What is JEE?
JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is a national level entrance examination conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various engineering colleges in India. It is constituted by two different examinations. They are
- JEE Main
- JEE Advanced
JEE provides the roadmap to get into premier engineering institutes in India like IIT’s, NIT’s, IIIT’s, and other Centrally funded technical Institutes (CFTI’s). The counselling cum seat allotment process for all the IIT’s, NIT’s, IIIT’s, and CFIT’s is organized and managed by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSSA).
JEE Main:
JEE Main consists of paper-1 and paper-2. The paper-1 is conducted for getting admission into Bachelor of Engineering (BE)/ Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) courses and paper-2 is conducted for getting admission into B.Arch or B.Planning. From January 2021, a separate paper for B.Planning has been introduced called paper-3. Students can appear for all the three papers, any two papers, or any one paper based on their interest and convenience.
From 2019, JEE Main is being conducted twice a year, once in January and once in April. The candidate can appear either once or can write the exam both in January and April. In case if the candidate is appearing both times then the best score out of the two exams will be considered.
JEE Main Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be eligible for writing JEE Main examination, the students must fulfil all the conditions mentioned in the eligibility criteria released by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

JEE Advanced is the sole perquisite for getting an admission in any of the IIT’s in India. It is conducted by one of the seven zonal IIT’s in India (IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB)
The JEE Advanced exam is one of the most difficult examinations to crack in India. It is known for low qualifying rates going down to as low as 1.9% of the total number of applicants. Only the top 2,50,000 qualifiers of the JEE Main examination are eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced exam. However, it is not the only criteria considered to apply for JEE Advanced exam. We will discuss this in the eligibility criteria.

How to prepare for JEE Main and Advanced Examination:
- Know your syllabus:
Before starting your preparation for exam, it is very important to know the syllabus. If possible, make a printout of the syllabus and stick it in your study room or near the study table or any place where it is handy. This would also help you while checking your progress like what amount of portion is completed and what amount of portion is still remaining to study. Go through the syllabus thoroughly.
- Understand the Exam Pattern:
Understanding the examination patten is also a very important step before starting your preparation. Go through the pattern of the exam and note all the important points like the mode of exam, duration of exam, number of questions, types of questions asked in the exam and the marking scheme. All this important information will be available in the exam pattern.
- Decide how to prepare:
After going through the syllabus and the exam pattern you will get to the difficulty level of the examination. Then you have to decide whether you can prepare on your own or should join a coaching institute or you should take an online course. This part is very crucial as it will save a lot of time in the process. If you are not confident that you will be able to learn on your own, then join a coaching institute. There are a large number of IIT coaching institutes available. Choose the best IIT JEE coaching institute which is available near you and join in it. If coaching institutes are not available in your area, there are a lot of organizations which provide best coaching for IIT in online mode. You can choose
- Prepare a Plan to Prepare:
Prepare a schedule for studying and make sure that you stick to the plan. Be as creative as you are and prepare the best plan that you could do. Make sure that you make a realistic plan rather than making a good-looking plan which is not feasible. Prepare a plan according to your ability, strengths and weaknesses. Get to know the important topics which should be covered. Know the topics in which you are weak and dedicate more time for those topics. This can be done only when you are thorough with the syllabus of the exam.
- Get your assets ready:

Previous year question papers:
Collect all the previous year question papers, atleast previous 10 years question papers and solve them. These are the best assets available to you. Previous year question papers will give you a clear idea on the type of questions which can be asked in the examination, from which topics the questions are mostly being asked and the difficulty level of the questions asked in the examination.
Mock test series:
Irrespective of whether you join a coaching institute or not, definitely purchase a good mock test available online. Mocks test are the best assets to make to acquainted with the examination platform are also a best asset to practice the test and check your knowledge. Mock tests will be very helpful in assessing ourselves. By this we can speed up our learning process if possible and we will also get to in what kind of problems we having trouble and focus more on them.
- Consistency is the key:
No matter how many books, previous year papers, material or mock tests you have, no matter how much you invest in any coaching institute. If, you are not serious about your preparation then there will be no result. You have to show the same amount of dedication to the date of examination. Only those succeed who show such kind of dedication and consistency.
Why should we join a coaching institute?
Today competition is extremely high and here we are talking about IIT-JEE, one of the most difficult examinations in India. Every year around 12,00,000 people apply for JEE Main examination and out of them only around 2,50,000 people qualify. And only 12000-13000 people qualify in the JEE Advanced examination and get a seat in one of the Indian Institute of Technology. JEE Advanced is known for its very low qualifying rates going down to as low as 1.9% of the total number of students who applied. By this, we can estimate the level of difficulty of the examination but with proper guidance in our preparation and with a good amount of assets (books, material, etc.,) one can definitely crack the examination.
Today in India, there are many good institutes which provide JEE coaching. Many of these institutes has very good faculty who can guide you in your preparation process. Coaching institutes are a place where you can find all the requirements at one place. You get teachers, study material, books, previous question papers, mock test series and many other facilities. To compete in this competitive world proper guidance is very important to succeed.
How to choose a coaching institute?
As there are large number of coaching institutes available, it has become very difficult for the students to choose the best coaching institute for them. Choosing the right coaching institute is very important to save your time and money. Choosing a wrong coaching institute will be the biggest mistake you will ever do as it wastes both your valuable time and money. These are few things you must keep in mind and ask yourself while choosing the coaching institute.
Quality of classroom teaching:
Good teachers have the ability to transform any kind of student into brilliant student. Good teachers are those who can find a diamond in a stone. Teachers are very important while choosing a coaching institute. Make sure that the coaching institute has the best faculty who are able to make the student understand what they are teaching. It is important that the teacher is able to make a clear explanation of the topic. Any coaching institute with such teachers is a good option to choose. Choose a coaching institute which has the best faculty who can provide best coaching for IIT and mainly who can clear all your doubts.
Quality of study material:
There are many institutes who provide study material for the students. Study material will be very helpful while preparing for the examination and get to know the quality of the study material they provide while choosing a coaching institute. Best coaching for IIT is possible when you have the best material to study
Type of courses offered:
Check whether the institute provides different types of courses or not and whether there is a type of course which suits you. A good IIT coaching institute always provides atleast three different types of courses which match the needs of different students.
Past performances:
Check whether the institute is able to produce rank holders in the examination. Whether the institute is able to fetch a seat for their students in the premier institutes or not.
Is it feasible for you?
This is the most important part. You found the best coaching institute for IIT JEE but the it is not feasible to you then do not take risk to join in it. It is always better to choose an institute which suits your schedule and timing. For example, if you have to wake up very early in the morning and travel for a long time just to reach the institute lately and this journey is making you stay inactive and sleepy whole day, then there is no use in joining in it. Make sure that the timing, the place and other things are feasible for you.
